How To Find A Credit Card If You Have Bad Credit

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder Even folks with less-than-perfect credit can get a credit card, although it’s not quite as easy. In fact, you may have to do a little more digging to find a company that’s willing to approve you for a line of credit. Fortunately, there are some ways to make the process simpler, such as: CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL These days, credit card companies run a credit check before they start sending you “pre-approved” applications in the mail. So if you’re receiving offers from a credit card company, it’s likely you’ll get approved when you apply. Don’t just toss out that junk mail. Instead, take the time to carefully review it. GO LOCAL Your local bank or credit union–the one you already have an account with–may be more willing to give you a credit card if you have a good history with them. If you don’t usually bounce checks or overdraw your account, your bank might issue you a credit card with reasonable terms. Credit unions are often your best bet, since they’re “customer owned” and typically have lower rates and less stringent policies. STICK WITH A MINOR CARD To make your credit history stronger, start with a store or gas card. Retail cards–such as those offered by department stores–typically have more lenient approval terms, so even folks with bad credit can get approved. Check with your favorite retail store or preferred gas station to see if you qualify. DO AN ONLINE SEARCH Many companies that offer credit to folks with a shaky credit history advertise their business online, so do an Internet search for things like “bad credit card” or “poor credit card” to find a company that’s willing to work with your special needs. You might also want to search for “secured credit card,” since these types of cards are available to almost anyone–even those with bad credit. Here is a list of recommended [http://www.abcloanguide.com/personalloans.shtml]Personal Loan Lenders online. It’s important to use a reputable lender online to make sure your personal information is secure. A bad credit history doesn’t mean you’ll never again get approved for a credit card, but you will have to do a little more legwork–and possibly accept more expensive fees–than other types of borrowers. Wedding Music - Top Tips On Booking Wedding Musicians

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

By Jennie Evans How many musicians do I need? The size of the wedding party is the key to this question. A duo with discreet amplification can happily entertain a group of up to 60-70 people. A trio can cope with up to 100 people. As the party size increases, so does the size of the venue. You need more happening on stage to catch the attention and get the party going. A four or five-piece band with a small PA system is generally required if the party is 100 or more. To entertain 200 people and beyond, the quality of the PA system and the lighting for the stage and dance-floor becomes crucial to the success of the event. An act is required that is able to present a “stage show” that not only sounds good but also looks good, in terms of movement and costume, with the ability to catch the attention of the crowd … even those at the back of a big hall! How do I find the right band? The quality of musicianship is the most important factor. Listen to recordings of the band performing live, where available. Repertoire and experience come next. How long has the band been involved in wedding entertainment? Can you talk to a “satisfied customer” … a couple who used the band for their wedding and were, hopefully, delighted with the result? If it’s possible, watch the band perform live. However, if your wedding is in the UK, do be aware that recently revised licensing laws have made it very difficult and expensive to present live music in a public place, so public performances by bands of the quality you require for a successful wedding are a rarity. How will the performance be organised? You can expect approximately 3×45 minute sets of live music in a four hour period … or 2×1 hour sets, if it suits you better. If the musicians are carrying a PA system, they will probably come equipped with a CD player and will be able to play CDs of a similar style of music for half an hour before the first set and in the breaks between the sets, giving professional-quality background music when the band is offstage. For peace of mind, organise your music through a reputable agency. Make sure you receive, sign and return a contract stipulating when the band will arrive, when the performance will take place and the agreed amount of remuneration. You should expect to be able to talk to the bandleader a few weeks before the wedding to discuss any specific preferences you require. That first dance is something really special. If you approach the band well before the event, the guys will usually be prepared to learn your chosen song, if it’s not already in their repertoire. How much should I expect to pay? Reliability and quality of performance are the two attributes that are essential for headache-free, successful music at a wedding. If you go for cheap, you are likely to sacrifice either or both of the above! In the UK, a professional musician will expect to take home 100 - 150 for an engagement. On top of that there are equipment and travel costs, along with publicity, advertising and agency costs. As a rule of thumb, you can expect to pay 200 - 250 for a solo performance, 300 - 400 for a duo, 450 - 625 for a trio. A four-piece band starts at approximately 800. Depending on the versatility of the musicians, the quality of equipment (PA system … possibly backlighting for the stage and for the dance-floor), the price increases to 1000 - 1500. Larger bands cost proportionately more. New Dangers about Compounded Topical Anesthetic Creams

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Todd_Going] Todd Going On December 5, 2006, the Food and Drug Administration warned five medical supply companies to halt compounding and distributing a number of popular topical anesthetic creams used in a variety of medical and cosmetic areas. The firms subject to this order are: Triangle Compounding Pharmacy University Pharmacy Custom Scripts Pharmacy Hals Compounding Pharmacy New England Compounding Center These companies are allowed to mix certain chemicals widely available to medical suppliers in order to create a unique product due to the time honored skill of pharmacy compounding. In years past, pharmacists combined drugs in order to suit the specific needs of individuals that could not be met by available drugs, or because patients had allergies to common medications. This tradition is not overseen by the FDA, because it was mostly done on a local level without wide-scale reproduction for mass market. Unfortunately, not everyone responds to these drugs the same way, and because the FDA does not oversee the mixing it is impossible to determine any potential outcome on any one person. These creams contain high number of local anesthetics that include: Lidocaine Tetracaine Benzocain Prilocaine The danger is amplified because these creams are often used after tattoo removal, laser hair removal, or skin treatments that often require the treated area to be covered with anesthetic tape, plastic bandage, or dressing that concentrates the drugs into the body, thereby increasing the likelihood of potential injury. It is difficult to determine the number of people potentially affected by these creams, but the FDA believes that a significant risk exists. Pre-paid SIM Card for Aruba

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Dulaney]John Dulaney If you are planning a visit to the island of Aruba, you shall need your mobile phone to keep in touch with the rest of the world. You will need to communicate with your friends locally and abroad, business associates and your family back home. In the past you could achieve this by using your hotel telephone, which proved to be very costly. With the advent of mobile phones, you could be on ‘roaming’, while at Aruba, provided that you had a GSM compatible handset which complied with the frequency bands in operation in the island. The month-end bills that you received with such usage must have shocked you, considering the call charges, finding it to be much times expensive than that of the charges that you had paid for the calls that you made from your hotel room. While you are on roaming with your handset, you pay an extra charge for the calls that you make, excluding your normal call charge and you pay roaming charges on every call that you receive. Pre-paid SIM card for Aruba saves you 80% of the charges that you incur on roaming. When you buy a pre-paid SIM card for Aruba, you pre-pay your call charges and automatically receive talk time credits which you can replenish at any time. When-ever your talk time credit goes low, you just need to walk in practically any shop in Aruba to buy a re-charge coupon or voucher to top up the call time credits in your mobile. These vouchers are available in different denominations and therefore you have the option of buying the right value that you would want for your talk time. By pre-paying the charges every time, you will never receive any bills at the end of the month. A pre-paid SIM card for Aruba gets you a local number and you would be paying for calls just as the locals do, All your incoming calls are free, no matter where it generate from and you would not be required to enter into any contract. A pre-paid SIM card is the most economical way to stay in touch while you are in Aruba. A Subscriber Identity Module as the SIM is called is a miniature circuitry of the size of a postage stamp. It is microprocessor, which holds all your information and identifies you at the network. When-ever your phone is switched on, it logs on to the network with your personal details and these details, such as your telephone number, your mobile and SIM identity numbers along with other relevant information, which are held by the SIM card memory. Not only this, the SIM card holds your personal information, like the telephone numbers you often call, so much so, that it keeps a record of those numbers which you have called and those that you have received along with time and date information. A SIM card is a smart card and is the brain behind your connectivity to the world. The SIM card provides the facility to secure your handset through PIN codes, so that your handset cannot be misused. You need to insert the pre-paid SIM card for Aruba, in order for your handset to operate. Your pre-paid SIM card for Aruba would need a GSM phone which can operate on the GSM 900 and GSM 1800 frequency bands. If you possess a GSM phone, it is doubtful if it will work in any other country other than North America and Canada, for it will not comply with the frequency bands used in the networks of other countries. North America and Canada operates on 850MHz and 1900MHz bands, which sets them apart from the rest of the world. In order that your phone works with the pre-paid SIM card for Aruba, you would need a GSM handset which can work GSM 900 and GSM 1800 frequency bands. A rented mobile phone could be a better solution for your communication needs in Aruba. There are three types of GSM mobile handsets that are available in the market. The quad-band handset covers all the frequency bands that are used in different counties of this world. The tri-band would cover 800MHz, 900MHz and 1800MHz frequency bands, which would mean that such a mobile phone would work in all the countries where such frequency bands are used. The next one is dual band phones, operating on 800MHz and 1900MHz frequency bands. Therefore, if you are not a frequent traveller, it is worth considering renting the appropriate phone for the country that you are visiting. It is proper to remember that you would need a SIM unlocked mobile phone for your pre-paid SIM card for Aruba to operate. A SIM unlocked phone is the one which can operate with any SIM card. If your GSM mobile handset is locked, you will not be able to use it with your pre-paid SIM card for Aruba. When you enter into a contract with your service provider, you will need to sign a contract. The contract might stipulate that you will stay with the service provider for a period of time, which may be for a year. On basis of this contract, you would have received a mobile phone, which is given to you free of cost, and the relevant SIM card. This phone would likely be SIM locked and it would only operate with the SIM card that you have received from your service provider. This would not work with any other SIM card. You need to be using the SIM card, received from your service provider, for one year or for the period that is mentioned in that contract that you have signed before the service provider gives you the proper codes to SIM unlock your phone. In this context, whether you buy or rent a phone for your visit to Aruba, you must ensure that the phone is SIM unlocked. A pre-paid SIM card for Aruba is the most economical solution for your communication needs. It is pre-paid and hence you need not pay any bills at the end of the month. To learn more about buying such a SIM card and renting a SIM unlocked GSM mobile, compatible with the frequency bands used by Aruba, visit [http://www.planetomni.com/FAQ_gsm.shtml]www.planetomni.com/FAQ_gsm.shtml and http://www.planetomni.com/FAQ_sim.shtml where you can find the relevant information regarding your communication requirements. Aruba Cell phone use overseas. In 99% of the world the local cellular service standard is called GSM. We use this in the states as well. When combined with a SIM CARD (which usually goes under the battery of the phone) the phone is able to communicate and the SIM CARD also holds the telephone number and memory for pre-paid credit. Rates can be extremely low using this system. For example in 99% of all SIM CARDS incoming calls are free and calls to the states can cost a trifle. Such as, from the UK to the USA 7 cents/minute, from Israel 22 cents, from Australia 27 cents. Yes, USA Dollar cents! There are today even prepaid service providers in the USA offering rates of 10 cents per minute to call anywhere in the US to any type of phone. No contracts, no credit card checks, no bills. Pre-paid always means no minimums no contracts, no obligations. You only pay for the calls made. You’ll need an unlocked GSM tri-band or quadband UNLOCKED phone. Soups - Food for the Ages

Monday, February 25th, 2008

By Sara Gray For as long as cooking techniques have existed, soups have been eaten. Who doesn’t love soup and all that it has to offer? What is this beloved food exactly? Besides being an easy meal to prepare, one can usually find on hand ingredients to add to a broth and Presto! A new variety of soup is born. A simple concoction of water, meat and vegetables, and spices cooked over and open fire or oven can make the eyes tear and the mouth water in anticipation of a this heavenly meal. You can find soup served almost anywhere. Not only in homes, but restaurants almost always serve soup and of course your local grocery shop has it available in condensed, dehydrated, canned, and soft packaging-just-add-hot-water types Soups are ideal for those of us that are busy and constantly on the go. It’s a universal food enjoyed by young, old, rich, poor, meat eaters and the vegetarian diehard. This liquid food is eaten by cultures that span the earth and is made in a WIDE variety of ways. Homemade soup is always the best in my opinion, but because of technology, there are other ways to “make soup.” Condensed soup became popular because of its convenience. Condensed soup comes in a can. You simply pour the contents of the can into a pot and add either milk or water, then heat and serve. Within minutes you will have a delicious meal. Another kind of drinkable meal is available made popular by the demanding busy lives so many of us lead. Dehydrated or microwavable in format, soup is now easily sipped at a moments notice. The dehydrated kind simply requires the addition of steaming water and can easily be eaten on the go. The microwavable variety of soup is self-explanatory. Appropriately packaged, simply heat it in the nearest microwave and you have an instant meal. Soups come in all forms, flavors and textures - everything from clear broths to hearty stews. While meat eaters will enjoy thick stews of beef, ham or chicken, vegetable loves can always find nourishment in a soup chock full of vitamin-rich vegetables, legumes and pastas. Soup, a versatile food and the main staple in diets throughout the world for thousands of years is here to stay. Itll never be a fad that dies or goes out of fashion. And although I love homemade soups the best, regardless of how you get it, make it or buy it, soup is a filling meal - and healthy too! With its endless varieties and variations, it’s a food that is hard (very hard) not to like. Sara Gray is an avid lover of appetizers (and anything really to do with food!) and has created a couple of fun and informative websites. Easy Appetizer Recipes is where you can find delicious ideas for all kinds of hot and cold appetizers, raclette grilling, tapas small plates, snacks, chips and dip ideas, and holiday appetizers. You Can Make Money from Embroidery

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

By Debra Fernandez Who wouldn’t want to be able to make money from doing something they love, like a hobby or a craft? The truth is that many people have taken their passion and turned it into profit. No matter whether it is wood crafts, painting or ceramics, arts and crafts are extremely popular, and you can make money from them if you produce high-quality and unique pieces of work. Take embroidery for instance. This artful sewing has been around for as long as man has been able to ply a needle and thread. Identified by intricate and patterned stitching, embroidery is experiencing newfound popularity in our day and age. The most common form of embroidery is the embellishment of linens including draperies, tapestries, tablecloths, pillows, seat covers and bedspreads. These beautiful items are used to create interest in home dcor and often become cherished family heirlooms which are passed down from generation to generation. In many cases, these family treasures are crafted by a beloved aunt or grandmother, but in others, the work is hired out to a professional embroiderer. If you are highly skilled at embroidery and have a knack for understanding a family and personalizing crafts to reflect their values, this could be a great money maker for you. The best way to get started as a “for hire” embroiderer is by work-of-mouth advertisement. You can print up some flyers and business cards to place at your local library and area businesses, but the best way to let people see your work is to get out into the community with it. Donate some of your work to fund raiser auctions where there will be a great deal of people that bid on your embroidery. After the auction is over, hand out cards to those who expressed an interest but did not offer the final bid. Local community fairs are also a great way to make your name and work known to many. Another great money-making opportunity associated with embroidery is personalized, embroidered greeting cards. You can purchase pre-cut greeting cards and glue or stitch your motif on the front of the card. These types of items, if reasonably priced, go fairly quickly at bazaars and flea markets. And when you sell one, or if someone visits your booth, you have the chance to create a relationship with a person who may be interested in purchasing other embroidered crafts. As you can see from these few examples, there are many opportunities to make money from your embroidered crafts. You just have to be creative enough to know where to find them. By Debra F. Ventricular Septal Heart Defects Linked to Antidepressants

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Robert_McKay] Robert McKay PAXIL AND THE POSSIBLE LINK TO VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECTS Paxil may be the end-all and cure-all when it comes to depression, but nearly 20 years after it was released to the general public, more and more studies are showing the negatives may far outweigh the positives. Despite being the most popular and well respected drugs to control depression, Paxil has entered the third decade of its existence with a whole new slew of side effects that may be worse than the disease it was designed to control. One of these side effects is known as Ventricular Septal Defects (VSD), a congenital heart defect. A VSD is a problem with the wall between the left and right side of the heart. To understand beeter what a VSD is, picture or a poorly built apartment building. The walls are in this apartment building are so thin that if you were to hammer a nail into the wall, the pointy end would protrude into your neighbors apartment. Now picture the same thing with the left and right sides of your heart. Not a pretty picture is it? In September 2005, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) released a study showing that pregnant women who use Paxil during the first trimester are two times more likely to have a baby with birth defects. The most common defect of Paxil users, according to the FDA, is VSD. Put simply, VSDs are holes in the heart ranging in size from a problem that can correct itself as the baby grows older to holes that require surgery to repair. FUTURE CARE OF VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECTS You may decide the risk to your future child of your ingesting using Paxil is not enough to warrant the risk of your depression resurfacing if stop using the drug. There are other Paxil side effects down the road that you need to be aware however. Babies born with ventricular septal defects sometimes require ongoing care throughout their life. And the restrictions imposed on their lives can effect more than their physical health. Medical If your baby is born with VSD, it is necessary for a physician to periodically check the heart to make sure there are no problems. Activity restrictions Though most patients wont have to limit their activities much, there is a small percentage who will. Activities as simple as playing in the backyard and riding a bike may be limited. Medicinal therapy Some patients, even after surgery, suffer with a heart that is less able to contract. In these cases the patients uses diuretics to help the heart pump better. More surgery Most people with uncomplicated ventricular septal defects that are repaired early rarely need further surgery. However, residual effects in some patients have been found. In this case, more surgery may be required. WHAT ARE YOUR CHOICES Of all the defects associated with the use of Paxil, ventricular septal defects are the most common. The side effects may not be enough to warrant you, as the mother, to cease using the drug. After all, most of the issues of a hole in the heart can be easily repaired with surgery and medicinal therapy. However, there is the risk of a hole in the heart that cannot be repaired and the risk of a child being on medication the rest of their life. The choice is yours. Dead Sea Minerals - Health from the Lowest Point on Earth

Monday, February 18th, 2008

By Yoav Cohen A study involving a European occupational therapist suffering from psoriasis who had obtained compensation from her health insurance in order to undergo therapy at the Dead Sea has lead to great interest in health funds in Denmark, Germany and other European Countries. This has resulted in their subsidizing treatment from the Dead Sea for people suffering from both Psoriasis and other skin conditions. If Health Insurance companies can be considering coverage of treatment at the Dead Sea for relief and treatment of skin disorders, then it seems reasonable to advocate usage of products manufactured from the Mud and minerals of the Dead Sea. Healthy skin and Assisting to replace or remove electrolytes enables the body to maintain a good fluid balance thereby improving a feeling of relaxation, health and well being. Below is a list of the therapeutic physical and mental well being is dependent on the correct sodium and potassium or fluid balance in the body. This is regulated by the Adrenal gland, which in turn affect healthy function of the kidneys. The kidneys are responsible for controlling 28 chemicals in the body. An imbalance of these chemicals or electrolytes can result in certain skin or other symptoms and over an extended period of time results in various illnesses. benefits of the Dead Sea products together with the conditions or symptoms they alleviate. The Dead Sea Salts differ from regular sea salt in 2 important ways. 1) They contain 10 times more minerals than sea salt. 2) The Dead Sea salts absorb essential oils with ease, which enables them to be released into the bath water as they dissolve. This is beneficial for those wishing to benefit from the Dead Sea in the privacy of their own home. Some of the minerals found in the Dead Sea are listed below together with their functions or benefits to health. This provides some insight as to why these minerals assist in cleansing, de-toxing and restoring a healthy status quo of the body, especially the skin and muscles. Minerals and Chemicals found in the Dead Sea Sulfur-is found in the amino acids cysteine, and methionine; as well as in cells, hemoglobin (of the blood), collagen (of the muscles), keratin (required for skin), insulin, heparin, biotin, co-enzyme A, (required for healthy hair, skin, nails, among many other biological structures). Sulfur is necessary for synthesizing collagen. It is required for the adequate digestion and absorption of carbohydrates and a number of vitamins e.g. thiamin, biotin and pantothenic acid; It is also essential to enable cells to breatheSulfur is necessary for the secretion of bile from the liver and for converting toxins into non-toxins. Chlorine is necessary to maintain the correct balance of alkaline and acid in the body, together with being vital for cell metabolism Iodine is necessary for the production of the hormone thyroxin, and is also vital for both energy and cell metabolism is necessary to maintain the water balance in order for cell metabolism to take place, assisting the cells to absorb nourishment and expel waste products. An imbalance in potassium often leads to water retention. Potassium also plays a vital role in regulating muscle contractions and the nervous system. Sodiumlike potassium plays s a vital role in assisting the cells to absorb nourishment and expel waste. Calciumis necessary in strengthening cell membranes and cleansing the pores. In addition it is vital for production and maintenance of healthy teeth and bones, together with regulating the heart muscles and nerves. Magnesiumis necessary in assisting the body to utilize other essential nutiens and in cell metabolism. Bromine helps with the natural repair of the body together with cell metabolism and can be sued as a natural antibiotic.Saunas often use Dead Sea salts to evaporate the bromides thus creating and environment similar to the Dead Sea. Having a hot bath with Dead Sea salts and allowing the steam to collect in the bathroom will have a similar effect. Other than the benefits listed below for bath salts, steaming and using these salts in the bath can be beneficial for respiratory conditions e.g. asthma. PELOTHERAPYThe main healing property of mud is humic acid, which comes from concentration of organic matter. After the Ice Age the earth experienced a compression of plant and animal life resulting in transformation of various rocks and hence, muds. The parts of the earth, which suffered the most erosion, have higher deposits of humic acid. One of these areas is the Dead Sea, which has the largest concentration of humic acid, chloride salts of magnesium, sodium, potassium, calcium, bromine and various other minerals. Since the Dead Sea Mud (also known as Pelloid) has a high concentration of minerals together with an ability to hold heat, the mud can be used for certain healing benefits. Smearing the Pelloid onto the body in a process known as Pelotherapy provides cleansing and detoxing of the skin which has proved beneficial for skin, muscle pain and arthritic or rheumatic conditions. BALNEOTHERAPY Is an ancient healing form using water, usually with added salts, thereby distinguishing it from hydrotherapy, to condition, relax and revitalize the skin, body and muscles. Its benefits are seen in improving circulation, strengthening the immune system, reducing pain, stress and insomnia. Yoav Cohen is an author for AHAVA Dead Sea products site. Natural Diet tips to Achieve Fast Weight Loss

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

By Kathryn Whittaker Because of the countless diet products lining store shelves and being advertised on television, people forget that the most effective way to lose weight is simply to exercise and eat healthy. Natural diet products, however, can help a person get to their ideal weight and they include green tea and whey. Whey is a complex milk-based ingredient made up of protein, lactose, fat and minerals. Protein is the best-known component and it is made up of smaller protein subfractions like beta-lactoglubulin, alpha-lactalbumin, immunoglobulins, glycomacropeptides, bovine serum albumin and minor peptides such as lactoperoxidases, lysozyme and lactoferrin. Some of these subfractions are found only in small amounts (less than 1% usually) of cows milk. The benefits of whey have been known for centuries. In fact, in Florence, Italy, it is said that if you want to live healthy and actively, drink whey and dine early. Whey for weight loss Many studies conclude that whey plays a significant role in weight reduction. The results of these studies were so astounding that whey was dubbed an adequate weight loss supplement. Whey has unique effects on food intake. Having whey before a workout helps a person gain and preserve lean body mass. Likewise, whey maintains betaoxidation (or fat burning) during exercise, compared to other foods. If you include whey in your diet, you can increase your muscle mass and decrease your body fat. This is all because whey rapidly delivers amino acids to your body during exercise. Not only that, but whey has been found to improve blood sugar regulation which is another factor in controlling appetite and metabolism. The benefit of herbal green tea extract Green tea is famous for its medicinal benefits. Most Asian countries use it and other places around the globe are following suit. Aside from its well-known benefits, green tea can also help a person reduce weight. Drinking green tea is also a safe way to get rid of those pounds. Unlike other herbal products, it doesnt contain ephedra (which increases heart rate and blood pressure). Instead, green tea contains high concentrations of catechin polyphenols, which work with other chemicals to intensify fat oxidation and thermogensis (in which heat is created in the body to burn fuels like fat). Moreover, green tea causes the release of carbohydrates to slow down and thus, prevents sharp increases of insulin in the blood. One cup of green tea a day, or a supplemental tea extract, can help you burn 78 extra calories so imagine if you drink more tea than that! Not only that, but green tea controls leptin, which is a protein produced by fats and it plays a vital role in how the body manages fat storage via brain signals. A lower leptin level decreases a persons appetite and helps them to eat in moderation. Green tea is a safe and effective weight loss tool.
